Beltain 2023 (2)

4 hawthorn

The second day of May and some of the hawthorn flowers are opening.  With only a gentle breeze on this mornings walk, the scent from the flowers is lovely; the sweet perfume of May.

I have to apologise to everyone as I unwittingly quoted a bad link to Glennie Kindred’s website in my previous post.  Here is the correct link.  I hope you will look her up on her wonderful website:

    1. Because there was only a little wind and the sun was out even the scent of those few flowers was delicious! I wish I could bottle it! 🙋‍♂️

    1. Yes, Rudi, you recognise it already! If only the wind would drop, then we could know the scent more regularly! Thanks for your comment. 🙋‍♂️

    1. Hi Bridgette, my photography is not as good as yours but perhaps over the next few days I’ll take some better photos! 🌹🙋‍♂️

    1. Hi Sharon, thank you for your comments. Now there is such a strong cold wind the scent is lost. I do hope we get some warm windless days in the weeks ahead. Cow Parsley (I must check if that is what I’m seeing) is also opening. 🤗🌹x🙋‍♂️

    1. Yes! Today the wind is blowing again and it’s cold. Hopefully, we’ll have a few calmer days soon as more of the flowers open. 🌹🙋‍♂️
