  1. Definitely a harbinger of spring!! Nice hokku verse and great image of snowdrops, Ashleaf-sama. Yes, more light each day. According to ancient tradition, Feb. 1st is the first day of spring. But I’m not wishing winter away. Let’s savor each day if we can, somehow, even the cold winter ones! Hope you have a great 2024!

    1. Hi there, Edo-san, Today it’s about 1c (33f) & the fog hasn’t lifted at all & in another hour it will be sunset. I’m looking forward to the spring but for now I’m savouring these grey, wet, foggy days! 😉🙋‍♂️

  2. Yay! Love snow drops. It’s exciting to see new life. Here’s to the new light dawning, more and more each day. 💚🌸💮🏵️🥀🌷🌻🌱🙋‍♀️

    1. I also noticed some daffodils breaking through under a hedge this morning. No flowers visible yet, but they won’t be long. 🤗💐🙋‍♂️

    1. Dear Ute, on my walk this morning (in the fog) I noticed daffodil leaves pushing up underneath a hedge (escapees from someone’s garden) It won’t be long until they are in flower. 🤗💐🙋‍♂️

      1. It is lovely to see it! I could see it too , just took a picture of daffodils in my garden, will put it in a post 🙂 i totally love those signs.

  3. Thanks Ashley for this beautiful picture and, of course, the haiku I saw earlier. Sure wish I could type inside a picture! I’ve tried, but alas, no luck. May you day be filled with beauty. Peace, LaMon

    1. Thank you, LaMon. I’ve only recently found how to add words to pictures. I have only basic picture editing on my computer so it’s going to be quite simple stuff that I will do! Happy New Year. 🙋‍♂️

  4. Happy New Year Ashley,
Thank you for hokku and very uplifting photo.
Here everything is covered in snow; it is the first time in approx. 30 years there has been this much snow in Denmark, even the larger roads are covered in snow.
But the landscape is very pretty 🌨️🌨️🌨️

    1. Thank you, Marina, for your lovely response. I wonder how long it will last & whether you’ll be on your skis to go to work? Keep warm & safe. Happy New Year. ⛷🤗🙋‍♂️

  5. Nice photo to go along your haiku, Ashley. Now I know what snowdrops look like. I thought they looked different than this. I guess the flowers I thought were snowdrops, aren’t. ~Nan

    1. Nan, there are many different varieties of snowdrops, mine are a very small variety. Thank you for your lovely comments. 🤗🙋‍♂️

      1. Ashley,
Thanks, I’m glad to know there are different varieties. The ones you saw (and photographed) are very small. Maybe the ones I saw are snowdrops, too.

      1. Thanks, Ashley. I checked the link out and the one at the top is what I think of as snowdrops (the church up the street has some of them in their flowerbeds). I appreciate the link you provided. ~Nan
