Samhain

It’s the ending and the beginning of the Celtic year also known as the Autumn Cross-Quarter or Halloween.  A magical time when the veil between the seen and the unseen world becomes thin; when the line between matter and spirit is blurred.

It's almost dawn,
As the grey sky
Reaches down to the earth.

In the garden,
The rain washes every leaf
And dimples the dull puddles.

Sacred moments,
As Mother Earth reveals herself,
Communing with the world, and me.

I will be taking a break from posting here but plan to return for the Winter Solstice on the 21st of December.  However, I shall continue to read and comment on those regular blogs that I follow.  Until then, keep well and safe.

  1. Lovely poem. Halloween brings back special memories. It was always celebrated in our house. Neighbours of our age bracket came to join the festivities before heading out disguised in old bed linen 😆 ghost stories were a must 😮. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your break…

    1. Thanks, Elaine, for your comment. It reminded me of similar things we did as children ( a very long time ago). We would share a bonfire and fireworks and the evening always ended with simple but wonderful food. 🌹🙋‍♂️

      1. Yes definitely 😊. I think it was one of those holidays where I need another holiday to recover from it because it was so busy though 😂

    1. Thank you, Lisa, it’s more of a physical break as my old back has been playing up! Too many hours spent at the computer! I’m following and reading though 🌹🙋‍♂️
