  1. Thank you, Ashley, for your good-natured news about a bit of snow. I thought that you also had a storm, rain, and icy wind! As you are resilient in the face of winter, you will be rewarded with many early flowers.

All the best, Ashley, for the upcoming celebrations of Christmas to you and your family!

    1. Dear Joanna, thank you. One snowdrop! I thought there might be more; it is still early to see them! Indeed the weather has been very mixed, perhaps it will soon settle into something more like winter. I still have one more post to go, for the solstice on the 21st December.

      1. Thank you, dear Ashley, for your lovely reply! Let’s hope the weather will improve, and you will have many more snowdrops! I am looking forward to your next post!

  2. Hey Ashseed, I always enjoy your hokku, and the two beautiful photos create two great alternating haigas! Hope you two are staying warm during these winter days! Keep moving!!

    1. 🙏 Hi Edo-san, thank you for your encouraging comments. We’re warm at home just now but venturing out tomorrow to meet with my brother and his wife for a Christmas get together. Cheers 🥂🎄🎅

    1. Yes, I like winter as long as I have a warm home where I can watch the snowfall! The sun will be returning, soon! Imagine how much our ancestors appreciated the solstice, knowing that more light and warmth were on the way!! Hope you have a great solstice, Gail!

  3. Dear Rosaliene, thank you for your lovely comment. We’ve had a couple of storms, lots of rain and this little bit of snow, but I read that you’ve had an earthquake and more recently forest fires! I hope you are safe and well. 🤗💐🙏

    1. Dear Bela, I wasn’t expecting to see this flower, yet, and then there is usually a clump of flowers. When they appear, usually in the new year, I’ll see if my photos can help you with your snowdrop deficiency. 🤗😉🎅

      1. Haha! It’s kind of like asking you to imagine a Bird of Paradise, which exists in profusion along the driveway here in Hawaii. Still, there’s Kew Gardens … not sure if you’re near London? Anyway, enjoy the holidays, Ashley! Sorry I’ve been remiss in checking into WP – this move back to Hawaii has been … intense. Glad to be back home! Sending love!

  4. I really like the beautiful photo and the magical poem! The little snowdrop radiates so much hope and beauty, even on a gray day. It reminds us that even in dreary times, small miracles can blossom. Ashley, Thank you for sharing this moment with us! 🌼✨

    1. Dear Rosie, thank you for your lovely comments. I was hoping that more little snowdrops would appear in the new year but so far only one more has appeared. However, you are right, we should celebrate and enjoy even the smallest of beautiful things for being….just what they are…beautiful. 🤗🌹😊
