Iridescence K-A #126

The latest Kick-About#126 was a struggle!  The occurrence of iridescence takes place at the surface of an object, but as I had been reading about Chinese medicine it intrigued me that within our bodies each of our internal organs are represented not only by an element but also by a colour.  We look at our skin and see nothing of the miracle that is within; our iridescence.

  1. And just sharing here what I shared with you previously: the quality of your drawing reminds me so much of what I love about the animations of Bill Plympton – the face too – it’s that textural softness; as someone who loves narrative and characters, I can’t help but enjoy your character’s expression: the way a baby looks at you when you think you’re being cute, but the baby is thinking ‘how ridiculous you look…’

    1. Dear Phil, thank you. If you hadn’t given me that pep talk some weeks back, I would not be here now, enjoying making art again! I’m learning so much from you and the others on the Kick-About that I’m now excited by the next prompt (challenge). The art work there is so varied and imaginative that it also encourages me. It’s been good to meet you here 🙏

    1. Dear Marina, how did you know? Did I say something earlier? Yes, it was just the other day and my next post, just published explains all. Sending many hugs 🤗🤗🤗 thank you 💌 xx

  2. Nice images and hokku, Ashbud!! When I think of iridescence I think of the color of the feathers of some birds, caused by refraction of light instead of absorption by pigments. A neat concept.
