Spring rain

Spring rains,
From grey skies;
Earth's greening.

Ashley

NB.  I don’t understand why my uploaded photo appears to be out of focus.  My original is perfect and if you click on the image is appears to be okay.  Technology!  I’m not coping well with it!  It seems to change daily and sometimes it’s just too much!  Is it just an age thing?

    1. Thanks, Josie! I’m sitting here looking at a blurred photo but thankfully you get it okay. I’ll try again to connect with you, hopefully all will be well.

  1. Lovely green yard and photo. I love to welcome all the new buds on flowers and trees and bushes as I see them.

I’m not a technology whiz either. Photos often look different to me from one device to another.

    Enjoy the Spring Ashley!

  2. a beautiful overcast day. we are having the same at the moment. i actually like these types of spring days.

i noticed the same thing too on anything i keep within WP. hasn’t changed so i just keep hosting my photos from another photo site now. Mike

    1. 🤣 well, Graham it has stayed dry most of the day here. I actually spent some time in the garden this morning! But the previous days were miserable except that everything is finally greening up! Enjoy the rest of the holiday! 😉

      1. It has been lovely, including some rare rain Friday night. Hoping that will help more wildflowers bloom. 🤞🏻 Hugs to you, Ashley. Thank you so much. 🌼

    1. Thank you Rosaliene. This morning with the sun trying to break through the cloud, everything looks to be burgeoning! The mixed hedge that forms a part of the boundary of my house is sparkling and I love it.

I watched a TV programme last night about restoration work being carried out on the Klamath River in northern California. Some things make us hopeful for the future. 🤗🙏

  3. Beautiful words and image, Ashley! [you’re right, it clears up when you click on it!]. It had happened to me sometime in the past and I recall uploading a photo again and again after resizing, even renaming the image with no change. Next day it was fixed. It’s definitely not an age thing. It’s technology alright!

    1. Dear Marina, there is so much change going on and so quickly, that too often I think it’s me that’s doing something wrong! 😥 Then, I look outside and see the trees coming into leaf and the natural world rejoicing! 🤗🌂😊

  4. My eyes blur everything these days, so no problem for me. But tech has its own mind. I try not to take it personally.
Green is appearing both despite and because of the grey. Yay! (K)

  5. That tree is getting filled with leaves! What a beauty! Nice hokku; so true! Get ready for summer…just around the corner, Ashtar.

    1. Hi there Edo-san, I see I’ve got another new name! I did want to be a sailor, a Jack Tar, but they wouldn’t have me because of my eyes!

Yes, I’m already working on a new hokku for the start of summer! Talk soon! 📨

      1. “Ashtar,” Ed’s male version of Ishtar, goddess of fertiity, since spring is the time of fertiity. I like Ashtree better, though.

  6. age thing? Sometimes. Not in every aspect.
But: Chess is a young man’s game they say. So i have to cope with it as a chesslover.

Beautiful picture. I see it on my phone the same way, if i click on it.

    1. Perhaps it’s an age thing that I worry more! It’s best to step outside at that point and observe nature! It helps to put things into perspective.

    1. Thanks Sharon, the rain is off, then on again here! I’ll stand on the back step and just watch the sparrows tumbling on the hedge. They make me laugh! And there’s a male Dunnock chasing and dancing after a female! I’m blushing. Best to look away 🙄

  7. We do need some rain here. I have to water my seedlings.

Your picture is perfectly in focus when I click on it, so no worries.

Enjoy the rest of April, Ashley ♥

    1. Dear Ute, there has been plenty of rain here and the results in the trees and the hedge are obvious! How long have I got before the hedge needs a trim? A chore! 😉

  8. Lovely Haiku and apt picture, friend!

If you crop the picture and if you do not keep the aspect (original) ratio, it can be slightly blurred….do not know the whole technical details.

    1. Dear Indira, thank you for your appreciation of my post. 🤗😊

Regarding the blurred photo, I did indeed crop the original but didn’t regard the original ratios! I shall look into that. Thank you for the tip! 🤗🙏

      1. Thank you, Ashley, for your offer! I still have a series I want to finish first. After that, I can get back to calligraphy, but that will take some time. It’s easy to think that as a retiree, you have a lot of time…..

  9. I sometimes get that with photos, Ashley. Yours looks nice and sharp at my end anyway. As was your Haiku. 🙂

  10. Beautiful words. And as for the photo, it’s beautiful and don’t worry because it looks perfectly in focus and sharp when enlarged. Un abrazo 🍷

  11. when I click on the image and it opens in a new tab full size, it is fine. it must be WP doing a bad job of resizing it to fit in the blog post for display at a smaller size that is blurring it…

    1. Many thanks Graham, I’m not the best with computers and yes I think “cropping” my original photo may have something to do with the problem. Have a great week ahead; Beltain next…👍🌼🌻🎨😊

    1. Thank you Elisa. The older I grow the technology just becomes more confusing! My mind, my own mind, just gets clearer and clearer! 🤗😊
