Another challenge for those who participate in the Kick-About. I love the way each person’s interpretation is so different. This time the prompt was LIGHTHOUSE and below is a link to Phil’s page:
Thanks Michael. I’m not sure there were any helicopters around in the 1700’s! On the other hand, submarines….were they around? American Revolution? That was 1700’s! 🤔
oh i see now Ashley, i thought the outdeck to the right was for the heli! you’re right – if someone even managed to invent a heli in the 1700s it would cause quite a few eyes to open wide lol!
What a great illustration! Well done. I enjoy following along .🤗💟
Wow! This is quite a complex and well executed design, Ashley. Well done. As I see it, the lighthouse of democracy, though built on rock, now stands on a shaky foundation in need of repair.
Goodness, Rosaliene! I didn’t think along those lines but you are right and now that you mention it I must respond! If it’s built on rock, and the foundations are fixed and firm, then regular repair will see it last for a very long time! I do believe that, just don’t try doing those repairs in a hurricane! Thank you for your wonderful observations! 🤗😊
Thank you Anna for your comment. Yes, I can see what you mean, although this was a real building, the first Eddystone Lighthouse built in 1697. It did survive for a few years but a big storm destroyed it. After a couple of versions over the years the current lighthouse still stands on the rocks, about 12 miles off Plymouth on the south coast of Britain. 🤗😊
great job on this Ashley! i did appreciate the helicopter deck! Mike

Ashley, I commented before reading your description on the Reds Kingdom blog 🙂 Here’s hoping that ours is not beyond repair.
I hope so too! Our faith is being sorely tested! 🤗
Indeed!
Well done, Ashley. I like It so much 🙂🌿🍀
Thank you Ursula. 🤗😊
This looks like the cover for a Victorian novel. Adventure and mystery. (K)
Thank you. Rock lighthouses are just the right location for all sorts of adventures! 🤗😊
Indeed.
That is a fantastic lighthouse, wow. You are an artist. 👍❤️ Super well done for that kick about. 💐
Thank you Ute, I am only learning! 🤗😊
Very nice, Ashley! Especially the light!
Thank you Friedrich. I added a small piece of holographic tape from the local craft shop but the rest is simply colour pencils.
Awesome work! Very creative!

Beautiful lighthouse! Reminds me a little of the Moomin house. Check it out here:
