  1. Happy Summer Solstice, Ashley! Your new work is very impressive, congratulations! It shows a huge leap in your development, and I’m pretty sure this will be an important stimulus for your future work.

By the way, since I follow your posts regularly, I realize how quickly time flies. You just wrote about Summer Solstice. Okay, there was also an article about Winter Solstice in between… πŸ™‚ β˜€οΈ

    1. Dear Friedrich, I am buoyed up by your wonderful comments. This particular artwork started life when I was researching Lee Krasner! There was something in her work and in Abstract Expressionism that spoke to me, although I’m not sure if the artwork here is “abstract” enough. (Ha! What IS abstract?) Again, thank you for your very encouraging and positive comments. πŸ€—πŸ™

  2. Your haiga is fantastic, Ashleaf!! Your artwork is beautiful; what a great imagination you have! The hokku goes perfectly with the visual piece. Well done, and Happy Midsummer!!

  3. I agree with you, Ashley, the summer solstice is not only an astronomical event, but also a symbolic metaphor for abundance, vitality, and the tireless power of life. I like your wonderful artwork, which is a reminder that after the longest hours of light, shorter days will come again, yet the energy and life this day represents remain alive within us.

    1. Dear Rosie, thank you for your wonderful response. You have expressed my thoughts perfectly: abundance, vitality, energy. We are certainly on the same wavelength. πŸ€—πŸ’πŸ‘¨
