A dark silhouette; Beneath the tree's bark, The sap is rising.
Walking around Moira Demesne on a bitterly cold morning, I couldn’t resist taking a photo of this tree. Against the grey sky, it’s dark silhouette looked foreboding, like something out of a fairy tale. Perhaps, one day, I might write a story about it.

I love your March haiga! Both the hokku and the image are beautiful! That image is stunning…a great example of mid-spring, March being the mid-spring month. I use the word haiga to denote a hokku combined with an image, which the great Buson was famous for.) Excellent work, 灰の木の葉-sama!

Thank you, Marina, I certainly did! No presents these days, not even cake, but a lovely meal in a favourite restaurant. If one follows the pagan calendar, the 1st of February marks the beginning of spring, which is Imbolc (or Candlemas in the Christian calendar). At that time many plants are already showing themselves (snowdrops, crocus etc). For me, that is the beginning of spring. We can still have cold weather and I see that there might be some snow next week. I’ve still got the heating on! Thanks, Sharon, for visiting and for your comments 🤗🌹🙋♂️

I have to say I totally agree with you. That tree can be used in the beginning of a mystery or a horror movie. I can even imagine the music coming with it. It is quite ominous and foreboding.
