Another day of rain and so I stay indoors. I watch the flowers as their strength is tested by the heavy downpours. This picture will serve as a memory to hold onto until next year.
The childing autumn, angry winter, change
Their wonted liveries, and the mazed world,
By their increase, now knows not which is which.
from A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare.
Lovely photo and text. Nice to something summer-ly colourful to get you through the fall and winter.
Thank you Marina the colours are great.
Hi Ashley,
Thank you for sharing the last Summer colours with us!
Somehow a rainy day like this brings forth the colours of the flowers and greens even stronger. It looks like they got enough water for the whole season, too!
Much love,
Steffi
It has dried out since that day but the rain is never far away in these parts. Thanks for dropping by.
Dear Ashley,
I have tagged you fo a little blogging game about Autumn, called “Autunno in… TAG!”. I thought, perhaps you would enjoy to participate as you love walks a s much as I do and can find beauty everywhere. If you are interested, you can find the details, here: http://wp.me/p2kIdV-2Fr .
Much love,
Steffi
I realise that this is an old post but i just had to comment: That is a beautiful looking garden!
And that’s all there is Josie! When we moved here a small garden was what we wanted. As we get older we didn’t want too much work! In fact since that post the lawn has been replaced by flagstones, not eco-friendly but certainly good for us!
Ashley, you do a great job growing vibrant flowers! I want to be like you! Do you still grow these? (I’m also a huge Shakespeare fan!) 🌞
Hi Lisa, I wish it was me but my wife is the gardener, although it is always a collaboration! If I send you a photo you will see that our garden has changed, still lots of flowers but different. Happy gardening! 🌹🙋♂️
I’d love to see a photo! Your wife has quite the green thumb! 🌞
It’s on its way! 😊
I never got it, Ashley. Maybe reduce the file size by converting to PDF and try again? 🌞
Okay. Tomorrow.
